Allow me to clarify a few points.
1) Pirating at the outposts has significantly DECREASED in recent months, thanks mainly to an increasingly determined military presence and multiple capital ship support. KDF is safer than it ever has been, you are welcome to visit to find this out for yourself.
2) Shares have performed better than expected, not worse.
Just wanted to clarify those points.

ISS might be doing better than expected for the moment, but they're certainly becoming less neutral everyday.

Nice post, Konietzko.
Being a successful pirate isnt easy. My alt is a pirate, and quite an unsuccessful one... I don't play with him all that much, but I know he is unsuccessful because I keep having to transfer him ISK 
It was meant to be the other way around!

I wish it were like that, unfortunately for me I have to make my own ISK 
But my alt and me are very different characters, I like to try out different playing angles. I'm sure lots of people RP with different characters, its only a game after all :)

It's just a game, Raid.
Thats the truth of it. You're entitled to your viewpoint of course, we'll just have to agree to disagree :)
And also, we're not anti-pirate per se. We're on great terms with many pirates who use our outposts. We just don't allow pirating against our members, or in the outpost systems, thats all. My alt fits into the former category, so there is no antagonism.

There really is nothing to justify, Raid.
I make my own ISK and I would have that if I was in ISS or not, as I would have docking rights because this character would be neutral or positive to ISS even if I wasnt a member myself. The ISS don't pay me, it doesnt work like that.
My alt pirates in lowsec Tash-Murkon well away from anything ISS related. And even then, very rarely, as I'm mostly logged on with this character.
He would also have ISS docking rights because he isnt hostile to the ISS, and hasnt pirated in the outpost systems :)
I don't have access to any 'ISS money' as you put it, only my own which is nothing to do with the ISS.

Not quite correct - he isnt hostile to the ISS and doesnt pirate in the outpost systems.
And its my personal ISK, I can do anything I like with it. I could even give it all to you and its nothing to do with the ISS, so how I spend my personal money in-game isnt relevant. Though, I'm going to spend it on something... which rhymes with... pears

2: I play with two characters to experience both sides of the game, and knowing how pirates work makes me a better anti-pirate

4: Everyone knows ISS is neutral to all except those who are consistently hostile. We're not neutral toward you because you pirate regularly in KDF.
I think that covers everything :)

Actually, the ISS isnt strictly against piracy. As I say, we are on good terms with many professional pirate corps who use our outposts, under the understanding they don't shoot in the system.
It just works out that most pirates will end up targetting us at some point, and they get put on the KOS list :) But hey, some don't.
